Connect with your community this June!
|
There are so many important observances in June, and a good opportunity to include a section in your employee newsletter about upcoming volunteer opportunities in your area.
VolunteerMatch is a great resource to use to search for local organizations in need of volunteers! It’s also a great option because not only can you search for opportunities in your area, but you can also search by cause areas and skills.

June marks the end of the second quarter for a lot of folks, and it’s a great time to showcase any new hires that have joined your team recently! Include a section in your next employee email spotlighting all of the new hires. It’s a great way to introduce a new employee to the rest of their specific team, their department, or the company as a whole!
(Here’s more on how to announce new employees and new hires via email!)
Additionally, you could have employees send out their own new hire email. Having employees send out their own introduction email really helps boost engagement and creates a strong connection off the bat.

Tips & tricks for your employee newsletter
|
- Gather employee feedback: Dig into some real employee feedback by including a quick employee engagement survey to ask employees if they find the information in your employee newsletters useful. (Here are hundreds of other examples of employee survey questions.)
- Add a few moments of delight: Hide something fun within the email itself. It’s a clever way to ‘gamify’ your newsletter and reward those who regularly read it! We have one customer who hides the company logo somewhere in the newsletter, and there’s a prize for the first five people who find it.
-
Share employees’ social media posts: If your employees share company news or highlights on their social media channels, share it with the team. Highlighting employee posts in your employee newsletters can encourage other team members to share. Plus, it feels like a modern-day employee spotlight! (Looking for a social media policy template? We have one here!)
- Invite guest writers from the team: Consider having a section of your newsletter that features leadership or other team members giving updates or news about their department!
- Use internal newsletter software to help create engaging emails: A platform like Workshop allows you to create beautifully-designed emails, personalize your content (and audiences!), and measure the effectiveness of your campaigns through various analytics.
