We’ve researched all the holidays, observances, content ideas, and themes to help you create a fresh and fun July employee newsletter for your team!
Here's just a snapshot of what's happening in July
Key dates
A few highlights include:
July 1: Canada Day
July 4: Independence Day (US)
July 7: Global Forgiveness Day
July 18: Nelson Mandela International Day
July 25: National Intern Day
Bonus: Download this internal comms editorial calendar to help you organize your content and messaging so you can communicate with your employees and drive engagement.
Here are a few ideas of things we like to add to our July newsletters:
Local outdoor events: Find a calendar of local events and spotlight one or two for the team; bonus points if they’re family-oriented since often the kids are still enjoying their summer vacations! (And if you need help segmenting your employee newsletters by specific locations, we can help with that!)
Recipes: It can be fun to have your employees share their favorite potluck/picnic recipe…after all, we know we’re all scrambling last-minute for something to bring to all the seasonal festivities.
Summer intern spotlight: If you’ve hired interns for the summer, spotlight a few of the key projects they’re working on or showcase a day in the life! (After all, National Intern Day is on July 25!)
Don’t let employee engagement fall off during the summer months; take the opportunity to surprise and delight your team with lighthearted activities and events.
Summer sports tournament (our team here at Workshop is in a sand volleyball league this summer!)
Hiking adventure
Team happy hour
Yoga night in the park
Team bbq or cookout
Outdoor movie night
Lunch in the park
(You can even plan virtual events for your remote/hybrid teams! We’re particularly intrigued by some of the virtual classes that Confetti offers.)
